[FARE GONE] SV: IAD-DXB, 14.9k miles/3.7 cpm, $557 ai

Multiple dates in November and early December. Use ITA calendar feature. SV is a member of Skyteam. Good for those who hate Thanksgiving?

EDIT: Proper routing is IAD-RUH-DXB-JED-IAD

How much are hotels in DXB? I'm guessing not many bargain rates.

Is this 100% to DL?

And anyone know if a transit visas needed for Saudis Arabia.

Might do this thanksgiving weekend for two nights. Sure there's a cheap hostel somewhere in the city.

No transit visa necessary if you don't leave the secure side of the airport, but you could obtain a free transit visa if you wanted to check out JED or RUH (which seems quite interesting to me...)

Same-day weekend turns available on November 17/18, although on the return, you have a nine-hour layover in Riyadh. And then you'd have to explain why you made such a quick trip (3.5 hours) to Dubai.

I'm not sure about the visas required for Saudi Arabia, but there's a ton of visa advisories on the U.S. State Department page. However, it seems that for stops of less than 18 hours, no visa is required (and is free!). Could you leave the airport? I'll leave that for more seasoned travelers to comment.

Also, no mileage accrual on Delta, so you'd have to pick a different mileage accrual partner in SkyTeam.

Nice find on the same-day turn - I'm still learning ITA!

And for places to stay, Airbnb, hostels.com, and couch surfing are all great if all you care about is a place to crash. Actual hotels seem to be $200 and up a night. But I'm sure you could do a credit card churn with some of the chains and stay for free (churn in a hurry, I suppose)

The Four Points by Sheraton in Dubai are nice, I have regularly stayed at the Downtown Dubai location and it is often $100/night. It can, though, climb up to $129/night - $150/night, depending on time of year.

Does this earn SkyMiles? SV is not listed on DL's partner earning page:

Found this posted by burj in another thread. Looks like this fare books into V and does earn miles/MQMs on DL.

SkyMiles members will have the ability to earn mileage on Saudi Arabian

first/business class seats and Y, W, O, B, M, K, T, Q, L, X, V, G. All
these classes of service will be eligible for 100% MQMs and Medallion
Bonus.

For Middle East Airlines, the following class of services will earn 100%

on business/first class fares: J, D,Z Y, K and the following coach

There are still some details to work out with the bonuses for certain

information will not be available on our website. I apologize again for
the frustrations of this situation.

I'd be VERY interested in visiting RUH (and JED), but for Saudi transit visa purposes, doesn't that mean 18 hours or less? Also, do we get to keep our passports while transiting? I'd really just like to go to the observation deck of the Riyadh Kingdom Centre (Tower) and eat a Saudi meal. Whether Saudi meal means American fast food or balut these days I'm not sure, but...
