The DSL probably has the best chance. If your local circuit is up, there shouldn't be any downtream problems. Did you try the App Store through that?

Verizon and Virgin (Sprint) are both CDMA. Although they're different networks, it's possible some problems can affect both of them at the same time (I'm thinking of signal propogation problems in this case)
