I just got back from Moorea and Bora Bora and stayed at the Hilton in Moorea and Bora Bora and the Intercontinental Thallaso in Bora Bora.
The InterContinental is the much nicer resort, but is expensive since you can't get breakfast and internet for free like you can with Gold status from Hilton (easily acquired through a virtual move to Australia or with the Citi Reserve card).
We used our free nights from the Priority Club card to book a garden suite and paid ~$150 per night for a confirmed upgrade to the Emerald overwater bungalows at the Thallaso.
I suspect you are looking at the premium room redemptions with Hilton points, which is why you see 150K+ per night. We booked a standard room for 50K points and paid a cash upgrade fee to the Royal Overwater Bungalow. Availability at the Hilton in Bora Bora was tough, but check back every day since availability constantly changes.
