Once upgraded, the likelihood is that your original EC or ER seat has been reassigned. Getting it back at not be possible. As for the trade with the EC sitter as a self-help process is in my opinion inappropriate for the reasons stated. So if you don't want the bulkhead FC seat for your BFUG, talk to the GA ahead of time. It may even work to your advantage when BFUGs are processed. Personally I like the A and D seats in row 1 and frequently will ask, ahead of time, if that woud be an option for the now more numerous BFUG opportunities.
