AC is not the only one. United also requires 1 Instrument from Europe-SYD-Europe, EZE-SYD , Even Asia-Europe .
OW Airlines offer the same. 1 upgrade instruments.
AC is just offering what it competitors do.
In 2013 with 11K requiring aditional eUpgrade credits, on Asia-Europe route AC will not be competitive.
