In regards to the above question . This is what I would like exactly
1. Room upgrade , free breakfast .
2. Travel out during the day , hiking , shopping , swimming in the ocean and what ever else there is to do. Then at night take a relaxing swim in the spa/pool with a nice sunset veiw.
3. Price is a issue so I need to stick with the hotel chains and I can search for a BRG I'm not going until November.
4. As for decor I'm looking for something modern and fresh newly renovated not something outdated.
5. I will probably rent a car on a daily basis .What I would like to do is use my hertz one day certifcates without paying for parking every night. So pick up the car in the morning use it all day and then at night drop the car off and go to the hotel.
And chillis is fine

Based on all of the above, I would probably suggest the Sheraton Waikiki or the JW Marriott at Ko Olina, although the Sheraton will have the nicest (ie refreshed, but not luxurious) rooms and a stellar lounge - although I am not sure you will have access to it as a SPG Gold. The Royal Hawaiian was recently renovated, and is luxurious, but the decor is more 'traditional' vs modern.
Upgrades are not guaranteed at any property, so if that is most important benefit, stay where your status is highest. The Hilton at Waikiki is a massive complex that is not luxurious, but certainly adds to the stress factor of having to navigate such a huge, crowded property.
There are no Hertz Local Edition locations anywhere near Ko Olina - so if that is important, you should plan on staying near Waikiki.
