When I activated each card, I just asked the agent if the promotion that I had been enrolled in included 50k miles and a $100 credit. She confirmed it.
The phone number is different for confirming the AA Visa card. The Amex account is the only account that the agent will be looking at. So there is nothing suspicious about it.
