Skycheck is fairly friendly. You leave your bag at the door of the aircraft in the jetway, or on a cart in front of the door if you board on the tarmac. You pick up your bag in one of those two places (depending on whether a jetway is used where you arrive) at the destination airport. You won't have to go to the carousel unless you have checked bags pre-security.
