Since its all light rail and regional rail, you buy a so called 'Bayern Ticket' at Munich airport that only costs 26 euros for two persons at the train ticket counter and you will be able to ride the trains for free from 9am till 3am the next day.
Thank you! I just did a search at Kayak and Lufthansa has the best prices at their website. $176 roundtrip.

I have no idea why it didn't dawn on me to check Kayak, et al, other than I had been using EasyJet to fly to Paris and didn't even think of using "regular" airlines. But if there are other cut rate airlines like Easy Jet that I should check, please let me know.
