True, GOI can be horrifying all year, especially at lunchtime. In their defence, Dabolim does have a lot of restrictions and limitations they have to work with.

Why they haven't ever seriously looked at building a whole new airport and leaving the Navy alone defeats me. Goa probably could do with two airports. At least if one were located a little north of Panjim it should be able to draw enough traffic.

That said, what's really irritating is the new-ish diktat on using buses. It's so annoying at small airports, when the plane is parked within spitting distance of the terminal door, yet they make you take a bus. The distance between terminal and plan can be shorter than the distance between terminal and plane.
If you think goi is chaotic terminal side , air side is an even bigger mess. That is one airport I would not want pax to walk to aircraft even If it's parked right next to terminal. People who work everyday at the air side have been known to be hit by vehicles at lesser congested airports. Throw in a mix of a first time traveller jay walking on the Tarmac, well no one would want responsibility of that pax.
