True... especially when you consider that MEL to SIN is of a similar length however only dinner and a small pie are offered.
OzTennis... this time I flew the non-stop in both directions. A few months ago I travelled on the MEL-SIN-DXB flight outbound and non-stop return. Even though the flight via SIN does take a bit longer it is my favoured option... however that will probably change once the A380 comes online!
I could also travel from Launceston instead of Devonport... but at $1 parking at DPO for 5 weeks versus $185 at Launceston... DPO wins
We've done the flight via Singapore and non-stop countless times but it's only this year that the A380 non-stop has been available. We're like you, preferred the one stop in Singapore and use the EK lounge to the direct flight but now the A380 does the non-stop we think that will be better. That's a 'no-brainer' on Devonport vs Launceston for the car parking fees. Melbourne can be more like $185 for one day if you get in the wrong section!

The flight via Kuala Lumpur seems to be an addition within the last year now there's 3 services a day between Dubai and Melbourne whereas it used to be 2. Happy travelling!
