Got my Lounge Club card yesterday. While I don't recall what the letter stated word for word, it said that "you and your guests" will be able to use the lounges. However, on the Lounge Club website, when you look up certain lounges, some state only one guest is permitted free of charge. So I would agree with you, that certain lounges do have limitations on the number of guests.
