This bug is apparently still in the system. I just got upgraded at T-95 (Plat window is 72 hrs) on a wide-open A-320 from SFO-SAN. G fare, and plenty of seats still available, so I'm inclined to believe the explanation given in the other thread linked previously in this thread: it's a time zone bug.

My flight departs at 10:30pm PST, which is the next day in Houston/Chicago -- and my CPU cleared in the midnight sweep.
