Isn't 6 days out the right upgrade timing for PresPlat/1K?

Site says 5 days.
https://www.continental.com/web/en-U.../upgrades.aspx

Platinum Elite members on non-Y fare classes Beginning 5 calendar days before departure
Wondering if this had to do with time zones? Maybe since it was 5 days out in the computer's time zone (CST, it would have been 1am on 2/13), and since the time of day is correct, it upgraded me?

UDUs and e500s have been known to clear early, sometimes months early. If there are glitches that allow these to fail to clear when there is NF space inside the window, then there can be glitches that allow these to clear when there is NF space outside the window.

Or they treated you as a 1K/PresPlat, which is 6 days?

This has happened to me a number of times SEA-IAH - Sat night/Sun morning redeye - since 2010. Strange indeed - As always, I am just thankful for the upgrade.

Yeah, I have a sense it's a two-step filter looking for eligible itineraries.. so in effect I got a 6 day upgrade.

No complaints from me!

PMCO PresPlat = PMUA GS = newUA GS = EUA / CPU starts 6 days out
PMCO Plat = EUA starts 5 days out
newUA Plat = CPU starts 4 days out
PMUA 1K = newUA 1K = EUA/CPU starts 5 days out

So 5 days out for 1K would be normal, not 6.

So it seems like flights that take off in their local time zone when the CST time zone is on the next day (e.g. after 11pm Mountain, 10pm Pacific, 9pm Alaska, 8pm Hawaii) will all clear at the 6 day mark for a 1K (at least until 3/3 when this all changes).

That would be consistent with other timezone bugs I've seen on CO.

Any chance the folks that have flown on CO for some time have a sticky of all those items that they can point me to?

Forget it. I've asked that question myself, but it seems like no PMCO flyer is willing to admit that bugs exist.

I'm willing to bet that many know they exist but they like to keep them quiet to exploit the bugs rather than to put them out in the public eye which may cause them to get closed.

I can think of a few on UA that are well known/discussed including using a SWU/CR-1 across multiple regions or in multiple directions as long as a stopover does not occur and you don't transit the same point, the ability to hold a reservation using a bad credit card, the ability to re-use eCertificates (now mostly closed).

Or the fact that practically no one outside of the U.S. on PMUA will ask you for your paper SWU if you've called ahead of time to apply it? (I'm sure this one will die in the move to SHARES.)
