I had to cancel an Amsterdam and Barcelona trip with KLM a couple months ago thru Orbitz. I knew Delta was partnered with KLM and was told I could book a flight with Delta using the line of credit from my cancelled Euro trip (considered a changed flight). I called Orbitz to find out that I can book with Delta but a portion of the flight has to be with KLM...stupid. As far as I know KLM doesn't have any flights within the US because Delta covers that role. So in order to make use of the credit I would have to fly from Boston or providence to Amsterdam to San Antonio, Texas which is where I'm looking to fly to.

I had a previous call with Delta to check in in regards to doing this and they said it was fine. But because I booked with Orbitz for some reason I have to make the flight international. Was I fed some BS from someone at Orbitz or has someone else had a similar experience?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
