Hi, my wife and I have had the AAdvantage citi Visa and the AAdvantage Amex card for about 10 months (4 cards total). I wish to cancel the cards before I have to pay the annual fee. Can I cancel the cards when I recieve the monthly bill stating I owe the annual fee? or is this too late to avoid the fee. I am refinancing my house right now and dont want to close any cards that might affect my credit score. The credit checks should occur within a week or so.
