How long ago was the letter and was she referring only to the HK market ? I am quite certain (even without the Amex CS confirmation) that renewal requirements are not longer necessary, a change in benefit that came with the dramatic increase in Amex annual fees here in Canada. I called Amex CS more to confirm that this was also the case with Plat as well as Cent.
