I don't remember if this has been mentionned, but their goal is to reduce the fare by 40 €.

I can see them achieving that, but I am still not sure it's enough to lure people out of Easyjet if they don't offer anything more than them.

Now the big question is whether AF will introduce two sub-classes in its plane, eco and eco-. They might try to do it in the short run as a transition, with the front of the plane getting drink service. But I doubt that it is manageable and will be too complicated for the AF shuttle service.
It will need to be to be displayed prominently, especially because of the additional price for luggage.

The challenge will be to introduce a pay for food/drink as it is a nice service of Easyjet.
Offering improved meal on long-haul in Economy could be a way to slowly introducing pax with the concept of paying for food. But I am certainly too much of a cynic.

For old-timer, this sounds like Air Inter.
With the added inconvenience of yield management.
