I just found this in the T&C of one of the double asia miles promotions, so it looks like E class will co-exist with W & R:

This offer is only applicable to travel in eligible fare classes W, R and E (Premium Economy Class). Fare classes not listed are not eligible for this offer.Fare class E will be effective from June 2012.
