That's a good point. I've lost track of how many people (co-workers, family, my doctor, the lady at AAA, etc) I've given some initial advice to, upon hearing their "wow, how do you
afford all those trips???" Maybe 5% of them ever follow up for more detailed info from me, or checks out FT or MP. And of those, very few (if any) follow through because when the subject comes up again they have never applied for any cards, are still talking about travel they'd like to do but can't, etc. My previous boss actually is the only person in "real life" that I know who has gotten into the game after talking with me, and only to a limited extent at that.
