Thank you for all the replies. We will have lounge access, although only to the business class lounge, so we will check there for storage options first.
We were looking at the Narita City option, but didn't know about Chiba, so will check that one out too. TYO is definitely an interest, but I always worry about heading into a city I'm not familiar with a limited time to go to and get back from. I think there would be too many distractions there that might keep us there longer than we should.
I've never stored anything at the NRT lounge in transit.
If you intend to go through immigration, how can you access the lounge? If you go to the lounge in the air-side, how can you get back out through immigration? I guess it is possible but it is definitely not a normal procedure and involves some rule breaking.
I would just store it at the left luggage facility between N and S wing of the terminal.
