Only do a dental school IF you have a lot of time...
Even though I graduated from dental school in 1983, not much has changed since then. Appointments are often scheduled for a half of a day, even for one simple filling. Just like a visit to a local dentist, there are many many steps to complete before you even get any work done. Since it is a learning environment for the student, he/she will need to get the treatment plan checked off by multiple departments, which may need more visits.
You pay for the dentistry with your time. The quality is usually pretty good because the instructors will not let shoddy work leave the clinic.
Good luck!
