I remember filing a report to seatguru, but I don't believe that (since their takeover by Trip Advisor) they take any notice of passenger submissions any more. So caveat emptor, seatguru may not be a good authority here.

In the "good old days" of hard copy timetables, some of the better airlines would actually show the window locations on their seating charts (LH and SR come to mind). A very simple, cheap, and easy thing to do -- and very valuable to those of us who value a window seat, not just a fuselage seat -- but obviously beyond any notions of customer service these days.
