I also think that I found, after the flight, that the missing window was shown on an alternative seating configuration for the same plane. I remember filing a report to seatguru, but I don't believe that (since their takeover by Trip Advisor) they take any notice of passenger submissions any more. So caveat emptor, seatguru may not be a good authority here.
In the "good old days" of hard copy timetables, some of the better airlines would actually show the window locations on their seating charts (LH and SR come to mind). A very simple, cheap, and easy thing to do -- and very valuable to those of us who value a window seat, not just a fuselage seat -- but obviously beyond any notions of customer service these days.
I always value the window seat. I remember when CO renumbered their rows a Summer of 2010, and I changed my seat to 11A on a 738 to make sure that I would have a row that existed and have a window. It was a confusing time as I try to stay up to date with rows that don't have windows via seat guru-well long story short, I find my seat 11A and there is no window! I was very unhappy! I love the window! Oh well!
Thanks for your help everybody!
