However, it's less necessary in that case, because it has a spend requirement, and meanwhile (unlike the AA cards) you can "fast churn" it (at least a few times a year), so unless you need so many Hilton HHonors points in a hurry, it may be "safer" to apply for one at a time but repeat after a few months, than to try to do two at a time.
And btw, Hilton HHonors is one of those rare programs that has cards from two different banks. So without
any Citi duplication, you can get two HHonors cards, by getting one from Citi and the other from Amex! (The Amex HHonors card can't be churned the way the Citi HHonors Visa can be. But the Amex earns more points in actual use, so it's the one you'd want to keep if you want to collect HHonors points through ongoing spend, including when staying at their hotels.)
