I hope they abandon that idea. I find it far preferable to relax a little longer in the lounge and get on the aircraft last, as is the case with EL AL in Business or First, than the (ridiculous in my opinion) procedure other airlines follow of 'priority boarding'. I tend to agree. On Int flights, sometime I find the boarding time so long in advance..why bother...
But flying Y though, I would tend to board earlier because I find the hand luggage situation on El AL to be out of hand, both directions.
On a side note, they do ask for flyers with children and elderly to board first.
