For the record, did they continue your original flight in the morning (even under a new flight number) or were you accomidated on a regularly scheduled CLE-CVG?
If the former, I would think you are just due EWR-CVG. If the latter, you should be due EWR-CLE/CVG plus CLE-CVG.
