I'm debating between this card or SPG Amex. I'm Gold status but my husband is not AA elite so he doesn't already have the free checked bag and priority boarding benefits when he travels alone. However, the annual fee is higher on this card and SPG Amex gives you 1.25 miles per dollar if you bulk convert.

Thoughts?
