This is true. I just called to verify whether these benefits applied to my account. I have the Platinum AMEX and Visa (linked account). Both cards say Platinum Level on them.
These new benefits apply to my account.
I asked about the mention of "select" and the full name of the account is CitiAAdvantage Platinum Select Visa / Amex.
