My go-to when I don't have a thing in the house is a version of pasta carbonara. I almost always have bacon in the freezer, pasta in the pantry and eggs & pecorino in the fridge. Or if I don't even have the bacon--I squeeze a couple lemons, add garlic, olive oil & a beaten egg & toss the hot pasta with that....grate some cheese & lots of black pepper over the top---voila!
