Trust me dude, 15, I'm just a very mature writer for my age, and not to be modest or anything but I just have a very matured manner about me because I'm a very late (read mistake) child, so I always hung out with my brother who is 14 years older than me and sister who is 16 years older than me and their friends. I have the mentality of a 25 year old, which I wouldn't say is a good thing, I'd rather be an insane teenager but its just not me
Now back to the point:
First of all, hello to you too, but technically I'm Cambridge based

Absolutely hate the 2 hour trip to LHR :P
I can try to stretch it to 50K but that really would be hard is TK a 35K Gold? I know about AC but on AC you need to fly AC 10K a year, and according to rumors its going Sky next year, and also you need to fly 10K on AC itself which is kind of out of my way. TK might work, but again, I don't think they have redemption which is as good, and tell you the truth, the reason I'm so badly in search of a FF program is because I definitely want to be on a Million Miler track. Although I have 80K on DL already, I feel United might be better.
Speaking of flight classes being credited badly, thats basically what started this whole thing. I flew LHR-IST and got
125 miles for the 4.5 hour flight. I almost punched my computer when I saw it because I didn't consider IST part of Europe so I thought I would get full milage traveled
I'm not a big fan of anything non-*A because it would be a lot harder to get to DYU with good milage claim, so it seems I'll have to live with no milage upgrades but I'll always keep my fingers crossed for an opup from heaven
According to a couple of my brothers friends who are UA GS they get upgraded pretty often purely because of GS status, and I'm talking TATL's
I dont see myself hitting GS for a while though, but it will be a hope to one day get that invite. Maybe after college when I can work for a company that can shell out for full fare C and F.

But the rates for free tickets or upgrades are really high (plus they have fuel surcharges).
For your dad, it won't matter if he flies in paid biz because he'll get all those benefits anyway.
Wow, cheers for that. The Asiana thing is insane, I status for 2 years is nice, but tell you the truth, even though I like lounge access, I think I have a possibility of hitting 50 if I seriously try and if it doesn't happen then I'll keep trying year by year (I'm bound to fly that much at some point, I'm sure there will be the occasional family trip or something)
And also, United is nice for the fact that I'll have a chance of getting inter-US upgraded

Can you explain the united EQM system because I thought they counted on to the status. That definitely sets my dad back a bit because he's pretty focused on his "executive upgrade" for having status, but Im not sure whether he wanted it for the award miles or status.
Another Q about EQMs is do they roll over if you go over status like they do on DL? That would be very beneficial for hitting Gold, I dont know if you know but for example if you hit 45K on DL thats 20K over DL Silver, so you start off with those 20K the next year. That would be money for UA if they had that/added it
