I don't think is impossible for CX to join *A. I think UA might be ok with it as long as they can get CX as part of TPac JV revenue sharing just like with NH. The government might want CX to cut some NY to HK frequency though.
Still I think both SQ and TG will throw a fit. To some extend NH will object also. You also have to wonder the purpose of BR joining *.
