I'm sorry TG, but I think, coming from a moderator of the forum (let alone any member), that was a very low and unnecessary twisting of a user handle. Fair enough if you beg to differ, but being in the exemplary role you hold, I'd expect more and urge you to consider editing your name calling.

Chex, you are welcome to disagree with me any time.

When I am moderating, I am very careful to not post opinion and to include a "moderator" signature at the bottom of my post. If you noticee, there I did not include my moderator signature at the bottom of that post (which was made very tongue-in-cheek) and I was exercising my right to post as a general member in this forum. If Randy wants to discipline me for it, by all means, please turn me in. This is one issue I'm more than willing to serve a time out over.

One reason I asked to be a moderator for the Community forum was that I was grateful for the opportunity to have met so many people over the past two years at FT events, many (perhaps most) whom I would never had met through more "self-selecting events". When I first came to FT, I too was naive. I dumbly assumed before my first FT event (which was the TPE run in September of 2001) that I would probably be the only (or one of the only) female(s) and certainly would be the only one under the age of 40. After all, this was a frequent flyer event, right? Well imagine my shock that no only was I NOT the only person in my 20s but that there were 4 or 5 twenty-somethings along who were YOUNGER than me. So much for the need to "self-select", eh?

And thus I feel it is a slap in the face of the Community to have someone come and post here who repeatedly (despite gentle nudging and not so gentle ribbing from the Community) persists in his efforts to exclude a large portion of that Community and do so in a quite public way.

I notice that Randy has excluded age from the TOS, but let me quote the other protected classes here:

Any posts containing communications that are knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, obscene, profane, threatening, harassing, offensive, vulgar, abusive, hateful or bashing -- especially those aimed at sexual orientation, gender, race, color, religious views, national origin, or disability - will not be tolerated and will be removed. Individuals who do not abide by these rules are subject to having their FlyerTalk account permanently deleted.
Age discrimination is still wrong, despite the fact that Randy has not named it in the TOS. And I feel that welookgood.com has somehow made the statement that he thinks he is "too good" for the rest of us (or hence my mocking wearetoogood.com) and thus must exclude folks from his event. And exclude he is doing... rather than come back with a clean post describing his "young person's" event and letting us all choose for ourself how young we are he has instead come out and further clarified the fact that he definitely chooses to enforce an arbitrary age cap of 30.

And so I stand by my post.
