1) The best deal for international travel is to get 2 Citi American Airlines cards (Visa and AMEX) at the SAME time for 50K miles each or 100K for both. It costs 60K American Airlines miles to visit Europe in coach (40K during off peak season) and 100K in business

2) The best deal for domestic travel is to get the Southwest Plus 50K personal and business card for 100K points and then get another 10K points to get the 110K needed for the Southwest Companion pass. You will then get a Companion to fly with you for free until the end of 2013 and can use points to make the award bookings.
