Randy, should we make the switch to online statements?

Randy,
The airlines are offering us bonus miles to switch over to online statements. Do these statements have the same legal binding power as paper ones in a dispute?

Last year Amex offered 50,000 matching miles to the 1st 10,000 people that signed up for their DL Platinum card when they launched their double miles promotion. The wording said that they would match any Sept. 2000 airline statement up to that 50,000 amount and that we had to produce an original statement from that airline. The way that they stressed the word original bothers me. Also, NW & US don't issue statements for months where you have no activity in your account. What is your recourse with them if they refuse to give you a statement?

Is an online statement considered an original statement? Are there any other issues that we should be concerned about if we make the switch? As always, your input is greatly appreciated.
