In the Feb. 2001 magazine, you mention that Air Miles will be starting up in the US again. It states that all travel are measured in actual miles rather than point zones like airline programs.
That was true about the Canadian Air Miles system until Jan. 2000. We are now in zones just like all the airlines within the Air Miles program.

I protested via emails to Air Miles in canada when they switched to zones. It allows them to raise the mile levels required when ever they want. Which they did do this Jan. 2001.
I wanted them to keep the actual distances as cities never move so, we can never have point inflation like they've already done after just one short year in the zone format.

Their response to me was that people found the actual miles format too confusing and wanted a zone format. I think it was more of the case where they needed a format where they could raise point levels whenever they needed to.

Anyways, I lost my argument.
