Slight edge to US roundtrip TATL in this instance because
1) "Sleep is important. Service second" in your priority list;
2) CLT is a breeze through Immig/Customs;
3 $300 savings still buys a decent meal over there
Yeah, I'm not wild about the 6am departure on the return either, but neither is the nearly 4-hour layover in ORD with the other choice.
I'm aware that the A333 on the US return may or may not feature the Envoy Suites (still a few of the old config planes out there), but it's a daylight flight and doesn't bother me much.
