On the low end, I would be intrigued if they introduced a "Trek" or "Hike" membership level attainable at 5,000 or 7,500 miles. The only benefits would be 2 free checked bags and access to SELECT seating at booking. An amazing thing happened when I earned status, it wasn't that I always booked Frontier, but I always check Frontier first now. If they can change the buying habits of those 3-4 trips a year person, they can build some loyalty where other airlines don't reach out to.
Interesting and thought provoking. Certainly unique and like you say, totally under the radar of any other airline.
Before Republic, Frontier Summit's used to get a free snack from the menu. It's funny how it can be the little things that help cement loyalty. I was always the hero when coming home with a "big" bag of M&M's.
