Not correct. If you're a member they can either swipe your card (quickest) or manually type in your MP number if you don't have your card (not as quick). If you're entering as a *G (UA or otherwise) then they can enter either the PNR or flight number / name - or scan the BP.

The huge increase in lines (I've seen this too) is as a direct result of people assuming they can adopt the UA approach of just scanning their BP if they're a UC member. This doesn't work (yet).

Hint: there were no huge lines outside CO PCs in the past. People handed over their PC card, it got swiped, they went in.
Also had problems entering using a paid business boarding pass for a PS flight in SFO....they just couldn't figure out how to get that to register.

Thought the United Club checkin system was integrated earlier -- I was able to use my Presidential Plus credit card to enter one a few months ago.

But apparently not given the lines at the SFO club and fight that broke out between a passenger and agent.

The good: my former OnePass number now works for wifi.
