Because the PMCO management thought the way they did things was best, and probably never even considered the PMUA way.
I had a long chat with a PMUA FA last year about integration. She told me that at first, she was very motivated about the merger, because she saw it as an opportunity to take the best of both carriers and make the new airline even better. She said that it became very clear that HQ wasn't interested in listening to what the front line workers were suggesting.
The coffee fiasco is a perfect example. No one thought to test "freshbrew" on a PMUA aircraft in flight before selecting it.
Arrogance can be a bad thing.....
