I am in this situation (I think) my flight leaves Tues night so I am within the window. I called and ended up in the Philippines and was told "I am not on the waitlist and I cannot add you because there are already too many people on the waitlist". I am 1K I should jump a lot higher than many/most. I was on the waitlist until last night and now I'm told "I did my best but can't do it". Gotta love an answer like that after 45 minutes and I can't get a US representative.

Hi Pat89339 and bmvaughn, there is currently no indicator that shows “upgrade pending” for complimentary premier upgrades. If your MileagePlus number is in your reservation, the system will automatically begin processing your reservation when your complimentary upgrade window opens. If you haven’t been upgraded by the time you check in, you name will display on the upgrade standby list after you complete the check-in process.
