It never made any sense to me that an airline would charge me a fee to allow me to pay them more for a ticket. THAT is truely bizarre. So yes - all such upfare charges should go away. (Years ago in the days of common fares/ticketing I once had a Delta full coach ticket to get home from the east coast and noticed a AA connection that was earlier - AA wanted to charge me to take the ticket a fee! I said no thank you and took my $700 ticket over to UA who at the time was quite happy to put me on a plane.)
