As for traveling after 9/11, I went to Europe three different times from Sept 11 to December of last year.(all leisure trips) Getting from 60-80K frequent flier miles on US Airways on each trip to Europe was great! (thanks to FT! ) And helping out the airline at the time flying them when the planes were nearly empty. Of course, setting in the front of the plane was quite nice!

I also traveled alot right after the Gulf way. Alot of people called me a little crazy but getting loads of free travel & miles was quite rewarding. Just imagine what I could have done if FT were around then!

Bottom line: Go if you can. You will help their economy and not have the crowds.
