Dear all

I hope I am in the right section and my trip report comes in useful for someone, not you frequent flyers I'm sure as you have all experienced this before. I had asked some questions on the various sections of flyertalk so my payback will be this report.

I live in Liverpool, uk and visit kuala lumpur each January as part of my job. They only pay Y but as it was my 40th birthday yesterday my wonderful Dad paid for an upgrade on the return leg to J. I ended up with an 11 hour stop in Dubai as I wanted to fly the A380 all the way. So here I am little old me sitting in the emirates lounge at KUL. My flight departs in 3 hours and so far things are good. The lounge is medium size ( I think having never been in an airline lounge). I have a vodka tonic and some char Sui chicken and chicken satay which is good. You can see the runway from the lounge and there are about 6 people in the whole place!

I'm unsure whether I'll see the A380 arrive as there doesn't appear to be any stands big enough for it at this side of the airport but I can see an Etihad plane and several Malaysian airlines planes and an air Asia plane has just taken off because of course they use the same runway from lcct and Klia.

Anyway next stop is Dubai and hopefully if all is well i'll post the next instalment there.
