Of course you can use them...if you can get in the lounge you can use the shower. Even passengers originating in YVR can use the shower. Which lounges have you experienced which restricted shower usage?

Personally, I've never used sandals or shower shoes. I've walked barefoot in places that would be a lot less sanitary than a airport lounge shower, so while yes there can be a small risk of contacting some bacteria of some kind, I've never worried about it.
