Yes, but just like currency conversion 1 Starpoint does not hold equal value to 1 Hhonors Point. They'll get you on the redemption. Most Starwood properties are 7,000 - 20,000 per night; for Hilton 40,000-50,000 plus for a mid-tier property is not unheard of.
This isn't to say that Hilton doesn't have a valuable program, I hold Diamond with Hilton and Platinum with SPG, but SPG continues to be my primary as I perceive the earnings to redemption to be superior to Hilton. Plus I find Starwood's high end properties (those where I typically redeem) to be some of the best out there.
