Why exactly are post counts important on the whole on FT? Do they serve a purpose? And is that purpose not already diluted by the fact that there are some off-topic posts that are raising those post counts?

Sorry TB, but allowing posts to count in the OMNIs and CC only makes post counts even more worthless than they already are, IMO.
