Fair enough, but I think that you should feel perfectly comfortable putting your beverage of choice in your own non-glass container and enjoying it on the beach. As others have said, if you're not making a scene or nuisance, I can't imagine anyone will give you a hard time (with the exception of Clearwater Beach, perhaps).
