Lufthansa does not operate 757-300, and I can't recall them operating 757-200's.
As far as the summer goes, its more favorable due to jet streams for the 757-200. The winter winds are what makes the trip a problem.
Condor did/does, which would've been an LH subsidiary still at the time.
