IME the Plat res. agents also stress the point that itīs only a request and any request is not confirmed, but rather itīs up to the individual hotel.
My advice would be to try to have the discount applied at check-out, telling them the restaurant staff were unable to apply the discount. Donīt know whether your discount code had any restrictions attached, but definitely worth a short IMO.
