I had exactly the same situation as you did back in June - the system showed FLEX miles before purchase and then suddenly switched to SAVER miles after purchase. I had screen shots and everything else and sent them off to Skywards. They refused to honour the FLEX miles shown.
I might have accepted that position if this forum doesn't overflow with stories similar to yours - namely that of honouring the original information provided on the basis of screenshots. Yet, because they do this arbitrarily, they may generate goodwill with you but actually ruin any goodwill from those of us who have been denied in the same situation.
Exactly the same happened to me, until I purchased the ticket everything was confirmed in Flex, after Tieckting changed to Saver. The CSC wrote me, that in the terms & conditions is stated, that the miles are only confirmed AFTER the purchase has been done. So they will not honor the milage on the screen shots! Further mails were ignored. Thanks to a very helpful agent from the local EK office I was able to change the ticket without changing fees to a Flex ticket, of course more expensive..!
